As far as I can remember, music has always been my passion.
Playing the piano at age five for the Sunday School in my father's church,
and in later years during church services laid the foundation
for what would be my calling these past almost fifty years.

Teaching music in the public schools and watching my students love and grow and appreciate music was very rewarding.  It has made me eye see similarly the appreciation
people have for music in their worship.  I believe as a church musician, my role is to
play a part in the worship life of the congregation, by letting music provide
an emotional foundation -- whether in a  joyful or more pensive way.

As the director of the choir, I have found that while the choir functions as a performing group providing anthems,   more importantly it serves to enhance worship by
facilitating congregational singing.  It is their offering.  And it is fulfilling for me to be
able to work with them in this role.  It seems that all my musical experiences throughout
my life have brought me to this one special calling.
